Zimi Sawacha is currently Associate Professor at the Department of Information Engineering of the University of Padova. She earned a Master Degree in Mechanic Engineering (2000) and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering (2007) at the University of Padova. She worked as research fellow at Helen Hayes Hospital CRT (New York, USA) on a NIH grant and at Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli (Bologna). She has been with the School of Bioengineering, University of Padova (2007- up to now). Her research activity mainly concerns the human movement analysis and biomechanics applied to diabetic foot prevention, post-stroke patients, orthopaedics pathologies and sports science. Her scientific production includes 46 articles in peer-reviewed journals and more than 100 publications in proceedings. She has been research investigator in national and international projects and currently PI of 3 founded projects. She is Professor of Human Movement Bioengineering and Rehabilitation at the Bioengineering Batchelor and Master Courses, and of both Biomechanics and Laboratory of Biomechanics at the Movement Science Master Course. She has been supervisor of more than 100 Master and Bachelor Thesis, and of 4 PhD students. She is a member of the board of ESMAC, and she has been a member of Siamoc board (2015-2019), she has been member of the Consensus Conferences on Clinical Gait Analysis promoted by Siamoc and by Esmac, she has been the Conference’s President of Siamoc 2015; she is member of ISB, ESB, iFAB.
